Charles Brinich,145 Valley Road, Tamaqua, was granted a divorce from Alberta Brinich, 224 E. Elm St., Tamaqua. They were married 2001 Common Law.
Judith A. Angelus,1853 Edgemont Drive, Allentown, was granted a divorce from Oliver J. Angelus, 323 Country Club Road, Lehighton. They were married April 7,1979.
School tax
Tamaqua Area School District filed suit against Apartments and Acquisition, L.P., of 1102 Fullerton Avenue, Allentown, alleging school taxes are owed on the property at 304 Cottage Avenue, Tamaqua, in amount of $1,337.07; and against Hanson Erik Kantner, 334 Spruce St., Tamaqua, for $1,016.05 alleged owed.
Sewer bill
Northeast Schuylkill Joint Municipal Authority filed suits against property owners for sewer bills alleged owed.
Five liens filed against Shawn Lazer, 8 Spruce Ave., Barnesville, Ryan Township, totaling $5,936.50. A lien was filed against Danell and Christine Harris, 100 Crest St., Barnesville, Ryan Township, for $425.49; and two liens against John and Cheryl Schwab, 15 School St., Barnesville, Ryan Township, for $3,754.46.
Delano Township filed suit against Allison A. Freil, 211 Birch St., Delano, alleging a bill in amount of $454.46 plus interest and costs is owed for services.
Credit card suit
Equitable Ascent Financial, LLC, filed suit against Erik P. Kantnerhanson, 334 W. Spruce St., Tamaqua, alleging he has failed to make payments on a credit card and seeking a judgement for $14,780.88 plus interest and costs.
Mortgage default
Bank of America filed suit against Michelle A. Downing, 334 Arlington St., Tamaqua, alleging defaulted on mortgage payment on her property and a balance of $53,025.29 remains plus interest and costs.
Guilty pleas
Ryan Patrick Miller, 25, Pottsville, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and was placed by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) for six months. He will serve 61 days under house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $12 daily fee, fined $1,000 and court costs, attend the alcohol highway safe driving school, pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, a $50 monthly supervision fee, perform 10 hours of community service, and his driver's license is suspended 12 months.
On two summary charges of failing to drive on a road laned for traffic and failing to have proper lighting equipment on his vehicle was fined $50 plus $100 costs. Miller was cited by Corporal Steven M. Schmit, state trooper, when stopped on West End Avenue in Pottsville,
Russell James Gernert, 32, New Ringgold, pleaded guilty to DUI of alcohol and was sentenced by Dolbin to serve12 to 60 months in a state correctional facility with the sentence to commence at the expiration of a sentence imposed last February by President Judge William E. Baldwin on drug charges to serve 22 to 44 months in a state prison facility.
Dolbin also imposed a fined $1,500 on the DUI charge, pay $300 to the Substance Abuse Education fund, $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, $100 to the Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, enroll in and successfully complete substance abuse programs in the state correctional facility and when released on probation to attend an alcohol highway safe driving school, perform 20 hours of community service, and his driver's license is suspended 18 months and must install an ignition interlock on his vehicle for 12 months. Gernert was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Thomas Rodgers. The total effect of this sentence is 34 to 104 months to be served in the state prison.
