Christmas tree lighting

Polk Township's annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Veterans Memorial in Kresgeville.

There will be singing and refreshments. Santa will also be arriving.

The Veteran's Memorial is located on Route 209, across from the Kresgeville Post Office.

Parking is available at the post office or at Salem St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Rain date is Sunday, Dec. 2.

Red Cross Blood Donations

The Red Cross will be at two local places in the month of December. Pleasant Valley Intermediate School will be hosting one on Monday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and Getz Personal Care Home will be hosting the second one on Saturday, Dec. 22, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Call the Red Cross at 1-800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767) to schedule an appointment and confirm your eligibility at either place.

Young at Heart Seniors

The Young at Heart Seniors will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4 at Polk Township Volunteer Fire Company.
