Quakake couple wed 37 years

Mr. and Mrs. Gary Smudin of Quakake are celebrating their 37th wedding anniversary today. They were married on Oct. 4, 1975 by the Rev. Ernest Houston at Christ Lutheran Church in Barnesville.

Mrs. Smudin is the former Shirley Neifert, daughter of the late Grace and Elden Neifert of Quakake. Her husband is the son of the late Gladys (Lewis) and Algerd Smudin of Tamaqua.

They have three daughters: Jamie, wife of Kory Beidleman of Clamtown; Leslie, wife of Ryan Keefer of Cressona; and Tracy, wife of Damien Earhart of Quakake.

They have one granddaughter, Shelby Lee Beidleman; and three grandsons, Dalton Kory Beidleman, Owen Jon Keefer, and Quin Jon Keefer.
