Pink Light Walk
The West End Pink Light Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness, hosted by West End Happenings, will take place rain or shine, at 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11 at the American Legion Post Home on Route 209. The walk begins promptly at 6:30 p.m.

The free self-guided farm tour with many sites in the West End is set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 13.

Free community supper
Our Lady Queen of Peace will serve its next free Community Supper on Sunday, Oct. 14. The mealtime is from 3-4 p.m. in McCawley Hall.

District governor visits
The West End Rotary will welcome District Governor Art Peoples at its breakfast meeting on Thursday, Oct. 11at 7:30 a.m. at the Western Pocono Community Library in Brodheadsville.
Member Night
The Western Pocono Women's Club is holding its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at Effort Methodist Church in Effort. This meeting will include a full agenda. Participants will enjoy a covered dish dinner and also celebrate New Member Night.
Eugene Hamilton will speak about Influential Women. The club welcomes new members who wish to make a difference in the West End of Monroe County.

Zion United Lutheran Church, Brodheadsville, will be holding Harvest Home on Sunday, Oct. 14. Worship Services are at 8 and 10:30 a.m.
Our Lady Queen of Peace
First Holy Communion/First Penance parent meetings will be Sunday, Oct. 14; Monday, Oct. 15; and Tuesday, Oct. 16. It is important that at least one parent attend any one of these meetings.
First Holy Communion/First Penance Enrollment Ceremony will be during all the Masses Oct. 20 and 21.
Diversity Task Force
Pleasant Valley's Diversity Task Force Committee will meet from 9:30-11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16 in the district office in Brodheadsville.

Lions Club
The Western Pocono Lions will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the American Legion Post in Gilbert. Jonathan Hunsberger will provide a slide show and speak about his Monroe County Conservation project. Visitors are welcome but should contact Charles at (610) 381-3759 for reservations and additional information. Gathering time begins at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting beginning at 7 p.m. Meals will be ordered from the menu.
On Saturday, Oct. 20, as part of the club's community service, members will be taking residents of area personal care homes for a fall ride through the countryside.
Free craft event
The West End Park & Open Space Commission will have a free craft activity from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Haney/VanBuskirk Park Anchorage Road, Saylorsburg. Participants are invited to bring their respective favorite fall foliage or go on a Leaf Hunt and make a coaster to take home.

Trick or Treat
Chestnuthill Park will host Trick or Treat Night from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31. New this year is a Costume Contest. Recognized will be the Funniest, Cutest, Scariest and Most Original in two age groups: 5 and under and 12 and under.
Groups can get involved by setting up a window or gazebo in the park to hand out treats or making a monetary donation to help with the prizes. Call (570) 992-9733 for more information.
