"Truth for Authority"
Telling the truth is, and has always been, at the very heart of morality, virtue and the law.
"Thou shall not bear false witness" is the ninth of the Ten Commandments.
The Pennsylvania "motto" is: "Virtue, Liberty and Independence". "Virtue" rightly comes first in this motto. Virtue means: a) conformity to a standard of right: morality or b) a particular moral excellence. Without virtue, neither liberty nor independence can be obtained or preserved.
"Truth for Authority" is one of the 12 quotations carved in stone on the steps leading from Third Street to the front of Pennsylvania's Capitol in Harrisburg. This phrase was part of an 1850's statement repeatedly made by Lucretia Coffin Mott, a Quaker in Philadelphia, an abolitionist, a women's rights activist, and a social reformer. The entire statement was "Truth for Authority, Not Authority for Truth" by which Mrs. Mott meant: "People of conscience could not blindly accept what was considered right and proper merely on the authority of the government or the clergy or by popular opinion. In the 1850s, all these authorities supported, or at least acquiesced in, the sin of slavery. People of conscience had to search themselves to find what was True, and finding Truth, do their duty to God and to humankind."
"The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth", which has been used as the oath of witnesses in courts since at least the 13th century in England, was brought to the Colonies in America and remains in use to this day. Justice demands the discovery of the truth in a court of law. Look at what the three parts of this oath of justice mean: "the truth" - what the witness experienced; "the whole truth" - not leaving any material out; and "nothing but the truth" - definitely no lies.
It is impossible to have a meaningful discussion or relationship with anyone if they do not tell the truth. If we have to question and check out the statements and/or actions of someone for lack of trust, meaningful and productive actions cannot be accomplished. A true marriage cannot survive deception. Any rational employer would immediately fire an employee who's lying is confirmed. When those in government lie, many people lose trust, suffer greatly and at times, die.
Since September 12, 2012, we the people have been lied to about what happened at the U.S. Consulate and its Annex in Benghazi, Libya, where Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other members of his diplomatic mission, U.S. Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith and U.S. Embassy Security personnel Glen A. Doherty and Tyrone S. Woods were murdered. Two other Americans and seven Libyans were also injured.
On September 12th, Barack Obama, with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by his side, made a 5 minute statement in the Rose Garden which was prompted by the events in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012. The 13-paragraph statement contained the words "No act of terror" at the beginning of paragraph 10, following lengthy general comments about the September 11, 2001 attacks. Barack Obama took no questions and Secretary Clinton said nothing. That day, Barack Obama went to Las Vegas, Nevada, for a campaign rally and fund raising event.
For more than two weeks, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice, VP Biden and many other Democrats and those in the "main stream" media claimed that the attack in Benghazi, Libya, was "a spontaneous protest over an anti-Islam video." Ambassador Rice made this claim on five different September 16th Sunday morning talk shows. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton repeatedly made official statements blaming the video and denouncing it. (What happened to the First Amendment?) Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton appeared in a video that the Obama Administration produced and paid $70,000 of taxpayer funds to buy ads on Pakistani television in an attempt to disavow the anti-Islam video. Barack Obama appeared on several television entertainment shows and interviews where he claimed that the attack was caused by the anti-Islam video or that he did not know if it was a terrorist attack. On October 18, 2012, Barack Obama said that as we have gotten information, we have always fully disclosed it to the American people. Barack Obama mentioned the anti-Islam video six times during his speech on September 25, 2012 to the United Nations concerning the death of Ambassador Stevens and the other three Americans in Benghazi, Libya.
Then, during the second Presidential Debate on October 16th, Barack Obama said that he is ultimately responsible for what happened in Benghazi on September 11th and that he had called it a terrorist attack on September 12th. Any reasonable reading of the September 12th speech transcript proves that it does not support Barack Obama's claim that he had specifically called the September 11, 2012 attack in Benghazi, Libya, "a terrorist attack". His statement on that day was clearly a general one. Besides, if he had made such a statement, why did Barack Obama, many others in his Administration and other Democrats say for over two weeks that it was "a spontaneous protest over an anti-Islam video"? This clearly doesn't make any rational sense.
Further, during the VP debate on October 10th, Joe Biden was asked by the moderator: "What were you first told about the attack? Why - why were people talking about protests? When people in the Consulate first saw armed men attacking with guns, there were no protesters. Why did that go on (inaudible)?" To which, Joe Biden responded, in part: "Because that was exactly what we were told by the intelligence community. The intelligence community told us that. As they learned more facts about exactly what happened, they changed their assessment."
Each day more accurate information is becoming available, despite the resistance and obstruction by those in the Obama Administration, Barack Obama's campaign leaders and eager Democrats in the Senate and House of Representatives, and other Democrats who have come to the aid of the false assertions that the attack in Benghazi on September 11, 2012 was "a spontaneous protest (or demonstration) over an anti-Islam video".
On October 24, 2012, several emails sent from Libya on September 11, 2012 were obtained by various news organizations. These emails were sent by the State Department Operation Center to between 300 and 400 government and intelligence agencies, which included the White House Situation Room, the office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the FBI. The first email, sent at 4:05 EST, alerted everyone that the Benghazi Consulate was under attack. The second email, sent at 4:57, said that the shooting at the Consulate had stopped and there were people looking for missing personnel. Then the third email alert, sent at 6:07, said: "the embassy in Tripoli reported the Islamic military group "Ansar al-Sharia Claims Responsibility for Benghazi Attack"... "on Facebook and Twitter and has called for an attack on Embassy Tripoli."
So, in two hours after the start of the attack in Benghazi, everyone knew that it was a terrorist attack, most likely done by an Islamic military group, Ansar al-Sharia, an al-Qaeda affiliated organization. It was not a spontaneous protest over an anti-Islam video! They are lying.
Further, what are the answers for such questions as: Why were repeated pleas by those in Libya before the attack for additional security forces, or at least not removing 16 security personnel in August, denied by the Obama Administration? Why was the Consulate not properly fortified? Why were multiple warnings ignored? Many more questions remain unanswered.
The logical reason for this long string of lies is that the events in Benghazi shattered the much repeated false foreign policy of Barack Obama and his Administration. Al-Qaeda is alive and well!
William Jefferson Clinton was impeached for telling a lie, under oath, about "not having sex with that woman, Miss Lewinski." But wait a minute, in Bill Clinton's deceptions and misdeeds, it depended on the meaning of what the word "Is", is. Don't you love attorneys?
Obviously Barack Obama just cannot be trusted to tell the truth. Those around him have the same fatal disease. It is well past time to fire Barack Hussein Obama II and send him home!
