File for divorce
Brett T. Hoch filed suit for divorce from Heather A. Hoch, both of 95 Mill Drive, West Penn Township. They were married Dec. 8, 2002.
Eric R. Flaim, 710 E. Mahanoy St., Mahanoy City, filed for divorce from Jasmine J. Flaim, 246 S. Vine St., Mount Carmel. They were married July 7, 2003.
Reduce bail
Edward J. Simon, 45, Mahanoy City, had his bail modified by Judge James P. Goodman from $25,000 straight cash to $25,000 unsecured and he shall enter a rehabilitation center.
Simon faces charges of aggravated and simple assault, terroristic threats, harassment, and public drunkeness.
Default on note
Union Bank and Trust Company, Pottsville, filed suit against Bethy Lou Joseph and Michael P. Joseph, her son, who was appointed as her attorney-in-fact, both of 53 Hazle St., Delano, alleging they have defaulted payments on a promissory note and seek a judgement for $3,141.19 plus interest and costs.
Credit default
Fegley Oil Company Inc., 55 W. Penn Pike, West Penn Township, filed suit against Ka Ash, LTD, of Paxinos, alleging they have defaulted on payments on their credit account and seek a judgment for $53,308.74 plus interest and costs.
Credit card suit
Unifund CCR, LLC, Cincinnati, Ohio, filed suit against Michael D. Koles Sr., 206 Arrow Road, New Ringgold, claiming a credit card debt of $6,710.75 plus interest and costs are owed and seek a judgment.
Revoke bail
Jessica Evelyn Pfeil, 26, Pottsville, had his bail revoked by Judge John E. Domalakes and he was remanded to the county prison to await future proceedings.
Pfeil faces charges of burglary, criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief brought by Pottsville Patrolman Kirk A. Becker. He is accused of breaking into the apartment building at 309 W. Norwegian St., last Jan. 26 and removing a stereo and DVD.
Change probation
Ryan Patrick Miller, 25, Pottsville R.D., was removed by President Judge William E. Baldwin from the standard 18 months probation he was serving and was re-sentenced to serve 18 months additional in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) with the first three months to be served on house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $25 connection fee and a daily $12 fee.
Miller had pleaded guilty in February 2011 to charges of simple assault and recklessly endangering Desire Long, of Minersville, and was placed on probation but violated conditions set by the court.
Changes mind
Eugene Martin McLain Jr., 60, Auburn, withdrew his appeal from a summary charge of driving an unregistered vehicle when stopped by Trooper Mario A. Pompei on Interstate 81 in West Mahanoy Township last May 9 when his case was called for hearing.
He instead pleaded guilty to the charge. Judge Charles M. Miller ordered McLain to pay the $75 fine plus $86 costs imposed by a district judge.
