Turner graduated cum laude from Muhlenberg

Brandon Turner, son of David and Michele Turner of Barnesville, graduated cum laude from Muhlenberg College, Allentown, with a bachelor's degree in Bio-Chemistry. Commencement exercises were held May 20.

While attended Muhlenberg College, Turner was a member of the Muhlenberg "Mules" football team for three years and was a recipient of the Muhlenberg Presidential Scholarship for all four years of his studies. He was named to the dean's list for numerous semesters. He was also a college tutor and worked in the research lab.

The 2008 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School is furthering his education at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., after being accepted into the IGP program, pursuing a PHD in Bio-Medical Sciences.

He is the grandson of Ray and Marlene Turner of Barnesville, Diane Hope of Tamaqua and the late Robert Hope.
