Bringing in the illegal immigrants
Dear Editor:
President Obama seems to be obsessed with systematically legalizing illegal immigration. Our U.S. borders are open to one of the most crime-ridden nations on the entire planet. Because he refuses to secure the border, the consequences for the American people will be catastrophic.
It's already costing us tens of billions per year to provide welfare for illegal immigrants and to educate their children in our public schools. Right now, illegal immigrants are working millions of jobs that belong to us. Mexican drug cartels are active in more than 1,000 U.S. cities.
Under a new set of rules, criminals who are security threats are to be deported and virtually everyone else is allowed to stay. If someone is under the age of 30, came to the U.S. at the age of 16 and had lived here for at least 5 years, he is able to apply for a U.S. work permit. With the election so close, Obama may very well get votes from this kind of banana republic, and this kind of politic-ing will divide this country even more in the years ahead. Illegal immigrants lie to the IRS all the time. Every year they file hordes of fraudulent tax returns that result in them receiving billions of dollars in tax refunds that they are not even entitled to receive.
For a long time Obama has supported "sanctuary cities" for illegal immigrants. He has basically turned the entire country into a sanctuary city. Criminals, drug dealers, gang members, welfare parasites, and those willing to survive in an underground economy are given the green light to come over any time. These things are sure to happen if President Obama continues to systematically legalize illegal immigration:
There will be fewer jobs for American workers. 53 percent of all college graduates under the age of 25 are unemployed or underemployed more than 100 million Americans don't presently have jobs. Many employers prefer to hire illegal aliens because they work for less money.
Many prominent politicians actually support the "right" of these undocumented workers to steal our jobs. Wages for American workers will continue to decline as a flood of illegal workers enter the marketplace, and the wages for American workers will go down. Illegal immigrants receive tens of billions of dollars of welfare payments, food stamps, medical assistance, free housing, health care and free education for their children.
In fact, many cities in the U.S. openly advertise that they will help illegal immigrants with these things. It's been estimated that U.S. taxpayers (you and I) spend $12,000,000,000 on primary and secondary schooling for illegal immigrants.
Mexican drug cartels are continuing to expand their influence inside the U.S. at a frightening pace and are slowly taking over our communities; even rural communities.
There will be increasing anti-American violence inside the U.S. A lot of Americans are being attacked and sometimes killed down in Mexico, and as Mexican drug cartels and criminal gangs come north, anti-American violence will spread more deeply into the U.S.
The region along the U.S./Mexican border is an open war zone. Right across the U.S. border is the city of Juarez, Mexico, which is considered one of the most dangerous cities on the face of the earth. Juarez is the number one murder capital of the western hemisphere. All this, and Obama wants to make the border of no effect instead of strengthening security.
Gang activity will absolutely explode in the U.S. Since 2009, the number of gang members in America grew by 40 percent. Federal statistics show that gang members are responsible for 80 percent of violent crimes committed in our country every year. Even though these crimes are committed by gang members who have come from Mexico, the federal government isn't doing anything to stop it.
We're going to see our health care decline at an even faster rate than it is now. ERs are filling up as illegal immigrants come in to receive high-quality care and leave without ever paying. Because of this many hospitals are shutting down and going bankrupt in our country.
Most of all, legalized illegal immigrants will shift the voting patterns and more democrats will get the vote and more support at the polls. Unfortunately this is the way politics are going in 2012.
Now that the word is spreading about Obama's amnesty, more people will come into our country from all over the world illegally than come through the legal process of immigration. They have nothing to lose. If they get caught, they'll get a slap on the wrist, and try again in a couple of days. Isn't it worth it to take advantage of all the free goodies they can get here?
Chances are they that won't get deported. They can plan to make more in the underground economy here than at home. Politicians must be pleased here and in Mexico with the integration of illegal immigrants. Don't expect things to change. Mexico is in a failed state and we are freely letting them pour into our country.
