Blood drive
The Western Pocono Community Library in Brodheadsville will host an open Miller-Keystone blood drive today from noon to 6 p.m. Donors with a scheduled appointment will be taken first, but walk-ins are welcome.

West End Rotary will welcome winners of its essay contest Thursday, April 25, at the club's breakfast meeting at 7:30 a.m., at the Western Pocono Community Library in Brodheadsville.
Assembly of God
The Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church in Brodheadsville holds Sunday worship services at 9 and 11 a.m. and at 6 p.m. Sunday School is at 10:10 a.m. Youth Services Sundays is at 6 p.m.
Midweek services are at 7 p.m., with Royal Rangers (boys program) and Missionettes (girls program).

Adoption Day
Camp Papillon will hold an Adoption Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, April 28, at Tractor Supply, Route 209, Brodheadsville. One can go and meet the dogs, cats and critters that Camp Papillon has for adoption.
An online application can be filled out and one can get pre-approved in advance. Email adopt@camppapillon.org. For those not ready to adopt, fostering is a possibility. Camp Papillon provides vet care, food, crates and whatever one may need. All a fostering family or person has to supply is the love.

The West End group of Monroe Seniors will meet at 9 a.m., Friday, April 26, and Wednesday, May 1, at Zion Lutheran in Brodheadsville.
Choral program
The Pleasant Valley Choral Society will present its annual Spring Pops musical program at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 27, and at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 28, in the Pleasant Valley High School auditorium. It is the 30th anniversary program and many old favorites are to be part of the musical presentation.
Baptism instruction
Our Lady Queen of Peace will be offering baptism instruction on Wednesday, May 1, in the chapel and May 15, in the conference room at 6:30 p.m. Contact Nancy Matsko at nancjimm@ptd.net to register.
Zion plays host
Monroe County Family Promise families will be hosted by Zion Lutheran in Brodheadsville from April 28 through May 4.
The mission of Family Promise of Monroe County is to help local homeless families achieve permanent housing and lasting independence by providing safe shelter and meals in congregational facilities and by providing supportive services in collaboration with local social service agencies. Family Promise seeks to engage the community and individuals as well as businesses to end homelessness in Monroe County one family at a time.
Zion is one of the supporting churches in Monroe County.
Band parents
Pleasant Valley School District Band Parents will meet at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 2 at the high school in Brodheadsville.
PVMS Concert
The Pleasant Valley Middle School Chorus Concert will be held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 2.
Bicycle Safety
Western Pocono Community Library will host a bicycle safety program at noon, Saturday, May 4. The program is open to all ages. A bike ride around the property will follow the program. Participants are asked to bring one's bike and one's helmet.
