Chestnut Ridge Seniors

The Chestnut Ridge Seniors will meet on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. at the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Co. Bring a bag lunch. There will be either entertainment or bingo.

Pies needed

The Kunkletown Picnic needs pies for the contest on Saturday, Aug. 17. Be sure to have pies at the picnic grove by 4:30 p.m.

They also need cakes, baked goods and other items for the Cake Walk before 6:30 p.m.

If you could donate items for the Kiddie Cake Walk and Fishing Pond, please see that they are there before 4 p.m.

Free entertainment will be Claude (Shep) Shapenlle from 4-8 p.m.

Historical society

The Eldred Township Historical Society will meet on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Eldred Township municipal building. All are welcome to attend.

Exercising seniors

There is a low-impact exercise class for those over 55 at the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-10 a.m.
