Old Tyme Christmas

St. John's Lutheran Church, Sunday School, South Avenue, will present their Old Tyme Christmas celebration on Sunday, Dec. 22, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The children will be presenting recitations, songs and the traditional Christmas pageant. All are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served following the program.

Christmas party

The Diligent Fire Company will host its annual children's Christmas party from 1-3 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 21, at the company headquarters on Centre Avenue. Children are invited to come visit with Santa.Touchdown Club

The Jim Thorpe Olympian Touchdown Club will hold a meeting at 6 p.m., on Jan. 6, in the auditorium of the high school. Items to be addressed will be the banquet preparations; 2014 gold tournament; AFL sweatshirt fundraiser and the election of 2014 officers and committees.

Snow storm parking rules

Borough council will enforce the no parking on odd-even sides of streets during and immediately after snow storms of two inches or more.

The borough is posting signs about the ordinance.
