Tax-Aide site volunteers needed

State Rep. Julie Harhart (R-Lehigh/Northampton) has challenged AARP to open a Tax-Aide site at the Vigilant Fire Company in Slatington and they are looking for volunteer assistance.

Tax-Aide, a partnership between the AARP Foundation and the Internal Revenue Service, provides free federal, state and local tax counseling and preparation to middle and low-income taxpayers of all ages, with special attention to individuals age 60 and over.

The AARP Tax-Aide program is seeking volunteers to participate as certified counselors and greeters. AARP has a training program that prepares volunteers for this task. Anyone with a little computer savvy is a good candidate.
