Eldred Township Historical Society
The Eldred Township Historical Society will meet Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m.
A Show and Tell is planned.
If you would like to attend, bring an item, an antique or unusual, to share with the others.
Lenten service
the next Lenten service will be on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church. The guest preacher will be Pastor Deborah Scheffey.
A Soup and sandwiches meal (you bring your own sandwich) will be at 6:30 p.m. and the service will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Exercising seniors
There is a low-impact exercise class for those over 55 at the Kunkletown Vol. Fire Co. every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-10 a.m.
Story time
Storyteller Kathy Long, of Lehighton will be at Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Homes, Inc. on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Kathy weaves creative tales to inspire and motivate people of all ages.
She has written many stories and has illustrated and published two children's books and two audio CDs with a selection of her original stories.
Kathy promotes the written technique of "Life Journaling" to encourage the young and the young at heart to write and preserve their stories for future generations.
This event is open to the public and Mrs. Bush's invites the community and families to join them for free as this great story teller captures an intergenerational audience, both important to the residents and the community.
