Summary appeals
Judge John E. Domalakes held hearings on appeals from convictions by magisterial district judges and ruled as follows:
Dolores Gahres, 58, Pottsville, lost her appeal as the court found her guilty of speeding and fined her $35 plus $50 costs. She was cited by Trooper Michael Allar when stopped last Aug. 25 on Interstate 81 in Ryan Township.
Frank Schimpf Jr., 48, Baltimore, Md., was found guilty of the charge of disorderly conduct and was fined $100 and costs; and was found not guilty of the charge of failing to obey a traffic light. He was cited by Cpl. Leo R. Lucciani, state trooper, when stopped last Aug. 2 in Kline Township.
Joanne Westerman, 48, Baltimore, Md., was found guilty of failing to keep on the right side of the road and was fined $25 plus $50 costs but was found not guilty of failing to drive at a safe speed, which saved her $42.50 in fine and costs.
Kevin O. Russo, 53, Ashland, was found guilty of harassing Deb Geist, Ashland, and was fined $300 plus $157 in costs. He was cited by Ashland Officer Mark O'Hearn, last July 18.
Make bail
Two of the 13 persons arrested recently during a drug sweep have made bail while the remaining eight are still confined in the county prison waiting to face various drug charges.
Bail was made by Alicia Carr, Ashland, whose bail was set at $15,000 percentage cash. She faces charges of delivery of hydrocodone and acetaminophen propoxhypene drugs Zachary Kimmel, Orwigsburg, whose bail was set at $25,000 percentage cash. He faces charges of delivery of marijuana.
Still incarcerated are Matthew Bahrey, McAdoo, delivery of heroin, bail set at $75,000 percentage cash; Jennifer Clark, Ashland, delivery of heroin, bail set at $35,000 percentage cash; Matthew Dewald, Pottsville, two cases of delivery of methamphetamine, $100,000 percentage cash; Bryon Dufour, New Philadelphia, two cases of delivery of marijuana, $50,000 percentage cash; Francis Guida, Shenandoah, delivery of heroin, $35,000 percentage cash; Raymond Jordan, Shenandoah, two cases of delivery of vicoden and methamphetamine, $50,000 percentage cash; Amber Murphy, Shenandoah, two cases of delivery of heroin and cocaine, $60,000 percentage cash; Jacob Shuey, Ashland, delivery of marijuana, $15,000 percentage cash; and Tristin Weyman, Hegins, delivery of dilaudid, $10,000 percentage cash.
The drug raid was coordinated by the District Attorney's Drug Task Force with assistance from the sheriff's office, adult probation office, and members of various municipal police forces in the county.
File for divorce
Kelly L. Wagner filed suit for divorce from Edward J. Wagner II, both of 605 Arlington St., Tamaqua. They were married March 18, 2006.
Daniel S. Moore, 224 Pine St., Tamaqua, filed for divorce from Rachel B. Moore, 34 N. Greenwood St., Apt. 2, Tamaqua. They were married Nov. 22, 2008.
Divorces granted
Lindsey N. Kakol, 703 Ringtown Road, Zion Grove, North Union Township, was granted a divorce from Patrick E. Kakol, 13 N. West St., Shenandoah. They were married Aug. 30, 2007.
Megan A. Horsburgh, Pottsville, was granted a divorce from Ian Horsburgh, LaQuinta, Calif. They were married Aug. 14, 2005.
Kimberly A. Subach was granted a divorce from Dean J. Subach, both of Minersville. They were married May 2, 2009.
Patricia Ann Anthony was granted a divorce from Dale Allen Kauffman, both of Schuylkill Haven. They were married Jan. 1, 1993.
David A. Fehr was granted a divorce from Sherry L. Fehr, both of Pine Grove. They were married Sept. 29,1984.
Jane M. Weicicoskie was granted a divorce from Clement Weicicoskie, both of Auburn. They were marred May 30, 1987.
Property sales
The Tax Claim Bureau returned to the tax roll seven properties it has held as trustee for non-payment of real estate taxes by private sales on bids received.
Property at 174 Kimber St., New Philadelphia, sold to Ryan J. Roth for $1,000; property at 106 W. Main St., Girardville, sold to Hyder Binjameel for $500; and property at 110 W. Main St., Girardville, sold to Hyder Binjameel for $100; lot containing 0.5 of an acre along Woodside Road in Cass Township sold to Cass Township supervisors for $100; lot containing 0.2 of an acre at 217 W. Grant Avenue, Porter Township, sold to Porter Township supervisors for $100; lot containing 0.02 of an acre on W. Maple St., Mahanoy City, sold to Ronald J. Miller for $1,700; and lot containing 0.1 of an acre at 69 Centre St., Schuylkill Haven, sold to Rachael Gallone for $3,603.59.
