Swimming pool receives grant
The Northern Lehigh Swimming Pool has acknowledged the receipt of a $1,000 grant from the Henry L. Mickley/Mable S. Fravel Charitable Trust. The money will go toward the restoration of the diving board pedestals by the Slatington Fabricators, LLC.
On March 26, the NL Swimming Pool Association will hold its annual board of directors reorganization meeting in the facility room at Slatington Elementary at 7:30 p.m.
During the general meeting, the group will discuss plans for the refurbishment of the main and baby pools, fundraising ideas, projected costs, and summer student employment.
Anyone interested in being a member or helping the association is encouraged to attend.
In addition, any suggestions to improve the facility would be greatly appreciated.
Slatington Lions Club
The Slatington Lions Club held an indoor meeting at the Moose this past Tuesday. The speaker was District Governor Lin Gehris.
Lions celebrating birthdays include Eugene Mayberry (Jan. 18), Craig Weist (Jan. 19), Jeff Weidner (Jan. 20), Ed Hartman (Jan. 20) and Robert Kresge (Jan. 27).
