Bible study

The Women's Bible Study of St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 6:30 p.m. The group is open to all community women and they meeting in the Good Shepherd Room of the church. They are currently studying the Book of Acts and the leader is Mrs. Joan DeAcetis.

Smoke detectors

Jim Thorpe Fire Chief, Bill Diehm, would like the residents of town to know that there are smoke detectors available to those in need. If you wish to receive a detector, please contact Diehm, at (570) 325-3890. These are not available for businesses of the community.

Bloodmobile

The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be stationed at Memorial Hall on Feb. 20, from 1-6 p.m.

Community dinner

St. Mark's Episcopal Church will host this month's free community dinner on Sunday, Jan. 27, from 4-6 p.m. at the church. The meal served will be spaghetti and meatballs. If you wish more information you may call (570) 325-2241.
