PV All Night Party Committee

The 2013 Panther Valley All Night Party Committee will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. at the high school. February's Chinese Auction, along with other upcoming events will be discussed. All parents are needed and welcome.

Nesquehoning

VFW Ladies Auxiliary

The regular monthly meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary to Nesquehoning Memorial VFW Post 8008 was held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the Post Home. Sr. Vice President Ellen Driesbach presided at the session.

General Orders 6 were read and filed for action. Thank you notes were received from Carol Malatak and the National VFW.

Membership stands at 62 of 66 paid for 2013.

The Charter was draped for 30 days in memory of recently departed member, Audrey Gogal.

A donation to the Jr. Girls Conference was approved. Post 8008 will host the Feb. 17 district meeting of the posts only.

The auxiliaries of the district will meet in March to accommodate the Department President's schedule; date, place and time to be announced.

The next meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Post Home, weather permitting.

Summit Hill

Food Pantry

The Summit Hill Food Pantry will be open on Tuesday, Jan. 22 from 10 a.m. until noon. The food pantry is located in the Summit Hill Heritage Center on Hazard and Chestnut streets. There is to be no parking in the alley prior to 9:45 a.m. and no parking whatsoever on the private lot behind the pantry.

Recipients are reminded to bring along shopping bags.
