Golden Agers

The first meeting of the new year of the Panther Valley Golden Agers was held Jan. 14.

The Installment of new officers was held for 2013 with Marion Schaeffer performing the installment.

New officers are Irene Hudasky, president; Shirley Pavlick, vice-president; Tootsie Orsulak, secretary; and Fran Golder, treasurer. Alex Makita will remain as membership chairman.

A brief presentation was given on the beginning of the Panther Valley Golden Agers in the year 1973.

The next meeting will be held Monday Jan. 28 at 1 p.m. at St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church, Lansford.

Meetings are held every second and fourth Monday of the month.

Anyone 55 and older is encouraged to join.

Nesquehoning

Democrats to meet

The Nesquehoning Democrats will meet on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 6 p.m. at Maple Shade Meadows Senior Living Center, 50 E. Locust St.

Reorganization and plans for the primary election will be discussed.

New members are always welcome.
