University sues
Drexel University, 3141 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, filed an action against Anna V. Prokopova, 650 Pattern Circle, Albrightsville, alleging she owed a bill for professional services rendered. Sought is $4,407.75 plus interest, costs and fees.
Sues over job
Gayle L. Moyer, 324 Country Club Rd., Apt. 115, Lehighton, filed a civil complaint against the Carbon County Career &Technical Institute, 150 W. 13th St., Jim Thorpe.
The suit claims the plaintiff was a 14-year employee of the defendant as a English instructor. The suit alleges she lost her job due to discrimination actions by the defendant and some of its employees.
The allegations are detailed in the suit.
She claims that she was replaced by a younger employee and forced to resign because of her age.
She alleges, among other things, she was discriminated against in violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act., discriminated against because of her gender in violation of federal Title VII, of the civil rights act, her civil rights were violated, and age discrimination under federal law.
She seek damages for loss of opportunity, pain, suffering, and other damages, as well as, punitive damages, interest on amounts of unpaid wages illegally denied, plus costs and fees.
A jury trial is demanded.
