Jefferson Starship, Bobby Vinton have weekend concerts

Two concerts are scheduled this weekend at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe.

Tonight, Jefferson Starship will be on stage at 8 p.m.

The band is a spinoff from Jefferson Airplane.

Tickets are $27.

On Saturday night, pop idol Bobby Vinton makes a return appearance at the local venue.

Bobby Vinton, a Canonsburg, Pa. native, is not only a popular and extremely talented singer, but also a theatre owner, movie star, multi-instrumentalist and the host of a highly rated network variety show.

The "Polish Prince" had many hits including "Roses Are Red," "Blue on Blue," "Mr. Lonely," "Coming Home Soldier," "My Melody of Love," and "Rain, Rain Go Away."

Tickets are $35 and $40.

Wednesday night, country music returns to the spacious venue when singer Gary Allan performs.

Allan has topped the charts with a lot of his songs including "Nothing On But the Radio," "Tough Little Boys," and his latest, "Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)."

Tickets for Gary Allan's concert are $45 and $40.
