Summer concerts
The Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce is preparing to celebrate the seventh year of its popular free Summer Concert Series. The concerts are held on the platform at the Tamaqua Train Station throughout the summer season.
The first concert will be held from 6-8 p.m. on June 6. Music will be provided by Lizard Creek. Other concerts include: June 20, Christopher Dean Band; July 4, Fred Douglas; July 18, Steve Brosky and Jimmy Meyer; Aug. 2, YMI A Duo; Aug. 15, Todd Wolfe Band; Aug. 30, Jay Smar; Sept. 13, Large Flower Heads.

5K Run/Walk
St. Jerome Regional School will hold its Regional School Debra Earley Memorial 5K Run/Walk on June 15. The event will be held at 9 a.m. at Marian Catholic High School, following a scenic course over mixed terrain.

Meals on Wheels
The Tamaqua Area Meals on Wheels organization needs volunteers to help deliver meals. All it would take is one hour per week, although anyone who can donate more than an hour is welcome. For more information or to volunteer call (570) 668-6954.

St. John Lutheran
The Rev. Phyllis Wolford will officiate at the 9:15 a.m. worship service this Sunday in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. Sunday school classes will meet at 10:30 a.m.
