Golden Agers

The Oct. 28 meeting of the Panther Valley Golden Agers was opened with a spiritual reading by President Irene Hudasky.

Sixteen of the 28 members present were dressed for Halloween and paraded around the social hall singing seasonal songs. Three new members were welcomed.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, guest speaker, Cathy Charles will be rescheduled for a later date.

Membership dues for 2014 are now being collected until April.

The next meeting will begin at 1 p.m., Nov. 11 at St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church Social Hall.

This will be the last date to sign-up for the annual Christmas party.

The hospitality committee for November and December are Shirley Pavlick and Betty Marek.

Preschool story hour

The Panther Valley Public Library, 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, offers a free, preschool story hour every Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Stories, snacks and activities are provided for the children.
