Doctor's office hosts open house/health fair in Palmerton

A family open house/ health fair will be held Thursday at the office of a new family practice physician in Palmerton.

The event will be held from 4-6 p.m. at the new Blue Mountain Family Medicine office, located at 555 Delaware Avenue, the site of the former Bennett Palmerton Dealership.

Those who attend the open house will also have the opportunity to meet Blue Mountain's new family practice physician, Dr. Syed Zia, MD, according to Lisa Johnson, Vice President, Public Relations & Marketing.

"We are welcoming our new physician, Dr. Syed Zia, a family practice physician who will be caring for patients of all ages, from infants to seniors," Johnson said. "He will have convenient same-day, evening and Saturday appointments, has convenient parking, and will be accepting most major health plans."

The health fair will provide free screenings for body fat analysis, pulse oximetry, and depression screening, as well as free education classes centered on diabetes, obesity, sleep disorders, wound care, adult day care, and pediatric exam cards.

There will also be raffles to win a boys and girls bicycles, as well as some gift cards. There will also be free coloring books and crayons for all children who attend.
