Tree lighting ceremony

The 2013 Tree Lighting will take place at 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8 at the Kresgeville Veterans Memorial, located across from the Kresgeville Post Office on Route 209. There will be a sing-a-long and Santa will arrive. After the ceremony, refreshments will be served. Parking will be available in the post office parking lot, or at Salem St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Al-Anon meetings

Al-Anon adult children meetings are held 7:30-8:30 p.m. every Monday at Salem United Church of Christ, Route 209 and Gilbert Road, Gilbert. If you grew up with a problem drinker, have been affected by another's drinking, Al-Anon is for families, relatives and friends whose lives have been affected by alcoholism, addiction or dysfunction. Young at Heart Seniors

The Young at Heart Seniors will meet 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the Polk Township Volunteer Fire Co.

Historical society

Polk Township Historical Society will have its annual Christmas get-together at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2 at Cherry's. They will not meet again until Feb. 3.
