Lions board

The Western Pocono Lions Club Board will meet at the Western Pocono Community Library at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 4. All Lions are welcome.

Rotary speaker

West End Rotary will welcome Micheal Tukeva of Pocono Alliance. He will speak about the Bridges Out of Poverty program at the club's 7:30 a.m. breakfast meeting, held in the Community Room of the Eastern Pocono Community Room, Thursday, Sept. 5.

PVEN board meets

The board of directors for the Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network will meet at 9 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 5, at Zion United Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville.

Community Prayer Service

Van Buskirk-Haney Park, located on Anchorage Road next to the Ross Township Building in Saylorsburg, will be the site of Community Prayer Service, including many faiths, at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 5. It is a time to come together in faith in regard to the horrific shooting that occurred at the municipal building.

Those gathered will pray, share and hear from many of the area's faith leaders, as they share words designed to encourage and heal. Participants are asked to use the Anchorage Road entrance to the park for the evening's gathering and come with a lawn chair or blanket.

Band parents

Pleasant Valley Band Parents are slated to meet at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 5.
