Bowmanstown couple wed 60 years

Mr. and Mrs. Burdell C. Steigerwalt, Bowmanstown, recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married Aug. 28, 1953 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bowmanstown.

Burdell is the son of the late Sadie Steigerwalt Smith and Elias Steigerwalt of Lehighton. Florence is the daughter of the late Elinor and Clifford Hoffman of Lehighton.

They are retired from Keystone Lamp Factory of Slatington. They have two daughters, Cindy Mack of New Jersey, and Julie Graver, wife of Ricky Graver, of Lehighton. They have four grandchildren: Heidi, Tiffany, Jeanna and Shawn, and five great-grandchildren: Lily, Chloe, Coe, Karter and Knox.

They were guests of honor at a surprise party hosted by family and friends Aug. 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church. They celebrated by renewing their vows in the company of their family and friends.
