Penn Forest Township couple wed 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Jay Klotz of Penn Forest Township are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Sept. 21, 1963 in St. John's Lutheran Church in Jim Thorpe by the late Rev. W. J. Liefield.

Mrs. Klotz is the former Janet Reis and daughter of the late Edward and Ruth (Steigerwalt) Reis of Jim Thorpe.

She is retired from Kathy Ann Sportswear, Jim Thorpe and currently works with Barbara Ahner, Penn Forest Township tax collector.

Mr. Klotz is the son of the late Mark and Hazel (Heisler) Klotz of Lehighton.

He is retired from USF Holland after many years in the freight hauling business.

The couple has one daughter, Jayne, who is married to Dwain Andrews of Jim Thorpe.

They are also the grandparents of one granddaughter, Marissa Andrews, who is a first-grade teacher in Lumberton, N.C.

The couple will celebrate their golden anniversary at a family dinner hosted in their honor.
