Healing ministry

St. Francis of Assisi Church in Nesquehoning extends a personal invitation to anyone struggling with the grief process in the loss of a loved one to the Fall Bereavement Group, which begins Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 6:30-8 p.m., in the parish library, located in the basement of the rectory at 15 East Garibaldi Ave.

Sessions will continue each Tuesday for six weeks and are strictly confidential.

The sessions are free, but registration is necessary so there is enough material for everyone. To register call the rectory at (570) 669-6321 or call Valerie Higgins at (570) 668-2386.

Coaldale

Fall cleanup

Coaldale Borough will have its annual fall cleanup day on Thursday, Oct. 3. Large items will be picked up, including washers, dryers, stoves, refrigerators, a limit of four tires and tire rims.

Items must have all chemicals removed and doors taken off. In addition, up to 10 bags of garbage, not to exceed 50 pounds, or containers, not to exceed 20 gallons, will be collected.

No televisions or electronics.
