Easter egg hunt
The Nesquehoning Recreation Committee will be holding an Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12 at the recreation center at 335 W. Railroad St.
Nesquehoning residents can sign-up their children up to age 10 on tonight during bingo or by calling 570-669-9121 no later than today.
Lansford
Lenten service
A Community Lenten service will be held at 7 o'clock tonight at St. John the Evangelist Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford.
A soup supper is served at 6:15 p.m.
All are invited to enjoy good food, time with neighbors and worship.
Summit Hill
Summit Hill Food Pantry
Food distribution dates for the Summit Hill Food Pantry are as follows: Tuesdays, April 15 (early distribution for Easter); May 27; June 24; July 22; Aug. 26; Sept. 23; Oct. 28; and Mondays, Nov. 24 and Dec. 22.
The food pantry is located in the Summit Hill Heritage Center on Hazard and Chestnut streets.
Distribution will take place between 10-11:30 a.m.
There is to be no parking in the alley before 9:45 a.m. and absolutely no parking in the vacant lot.
Please bring strong bags/totes along.
Coaldale
Holy Week services
A Palm Sunday service will be held at First Congregational Church, Coaldale, at 9 a.m. Sunday. Confirmands will be honored and palms will be distributed. Sunday School for all ages will follow at 10 a.m.
The church board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, April 14.
The annual Passover Meal and Easter Message in Scripture and Song will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 15. The public is welcome to attend the service.
Choir members will rehearse at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 16.
Holy Thursday services will be conducted at 7 p.m. April 17, with distribution of the Lord's Supper.
On Good Friday, April 18, the church will be open from noon until 3 p.m. for study and prayer. A Good Friday church service will be held at 1 p.m.
A celebration of the Resurrection of Our Lord will be held at the Easter Sunday Service at 9 a.m. Holy Communion will be given to those who were unable to attend on Holy Thursday.
The church welcomes the public to attend all of the services and celebrate this holy season.
