Health scan
Nesquehoning Woman's Club will sponsor the OMEGA Health Screen performed by Quest Diagnostics from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 196 West Mill St., on the basement level. There is a handicapped entrance to the rear. There is a fee.
Meed's Methodist Church
Meed's Shepherd House will take place from 1-3:30 p.m. Thursday at the church at 126 W. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning. Anyone in need from Nesquehoning, New Columbus or Hauto is welcome.
A free community dinner will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 23.
Coaldale
Coaldale Rod & Gun Club will host its annual egg hunt at 1 p.m. Saturday at the club, located at Sixth and Lehigh streets.
The event is open to children 10 and younger and will be held rain or shine.
This is the 60th year for the annual event. Registration is from noon to 1 p.m.
Tax office closed
The Coaldale Tax Office will be closed Thursday and Friday. Normal hours will resume Tuesday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to noon, and 1 to 4 p.m. Also, proof of eligibility must be included with filled out applications to qualify when filing for an exemption.

St. Paul's Lutheran Church
Following are upcoming dates for Holy Week worship services for St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 123 W. White St., Summit Hill
• 7 p.m., Maundy Thursday
• Noon, Good Friday
• 7 p.m. Saturday, Easter vigil
• Holy communion worship at 10:30 a.m.; Sunday school begins at 9 Easter Sunday
• The annual communion breakfast will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 26.
The Pale Moon Players are performing after the breakfast.
Historical society
The Summit Hill Historical Society will meet at the museum at 7 o'clock this evening.
Agenda items are the Ludlow Park Project, Memorial Day, plans for the anniversary celebrations, fundraisers, bus trips, and future programs.
President Lou Vermillion will chair the meeting, which is open to all.
Lansford
Holy Week at St. John's
The Holy Week worship schedule for St. John the Evangelist Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, includes a 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday Holy Communion. Good Friday worship service will also be at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, St. John's will join St. Paul's Lutheran for the Easter Vigil at 7 p.m. at 123 W. White St., Summit Hill.
Feed the People will host an Easter Dinner this evening at 5 p.m. There will be no worship service.
All are invited to attend the three Holy Week evening services and the Easter resurrection celebration at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, April 20.
