Ode to the fisherman
Dear Editor,
"Fishing" Report April 2014
T'was the first day of fishing and along many streams
The fishers were fishing for the fish of their dreams.
We checked out the scenery and what did we see
Fishers "elbow to elbow" and some "knee to knee."
There were tall ones and small ones some young and some old
And we gave them all credit for the morning was cold.
The one stream we looked at (about 10 feet wide)
Had fishermEn lined up on right and left side.
But cold must not bother those "fit as a fiddle"
For there's a guy wading right down through the middle.
One fisherman mutters under his breath
"I guess this guy's trying to stomp them to death."
A lake that we looked at had no place to park
The faithful fold here surely came in the dark.
Now we saw something here that poses a riddle
While folks on the shore try to cast in the middle
Some fishers in boats (we've seen this before)
Are doing their best to cast near the shore.
But whether or not they came home with trout
We hoped that all enjoyed their day out.
