Our deepest appreciation goes out to Mary Salmon and Dr. Michael Martinez, of the Blue Mountain Health System 5K Walk/Run, for sharing their expertise on running a successful event.
Thank you to the countless volunteers who served food, worked registration, manned the corners, and did so much more. We must also thank the Palmerton Ambulance Association, the Towamensing and Palmerton Fire Police, and the Palmerton Police Department for helping to provide a safe environment for our participants. Thank you to the residents of Palmerton for opening your streets to our 383 walkers and runners and to the many who cheered them on as they passed by your homes.
Tamara House, wife of Mr. House, spoke at the conclusion of the event. She shared with those in attendance the beauty that she, and her family and friends from the Lehigh Valley area, saw in Palmerton. It is not only beautiful because of the trees that line the streets or the homes that are so well maintained, but also because of the people who reside in it. So whether you helped by making a donation, cheered from your doorstep, or simply traveled a different route to avoid ours, we thank you!
We are looking forward to planning our event for next year. For more information, go to www.raisingthehouse.com or contact us at raisingthehouse5k@gmail.com.
With deepest gratitude,
The Raising the House Committee
