Auto crash suit
Elsie J. Beckett, 1621 Blakeslee Blvd. Drive East, Lehighton, filed a civil action against Erie Insurance Group, 100 Erie Insurance Place, Erie; Thomas J. Osgood, 9 W. Columbus Ave., Nesquehoning; and George Strubinger, 334 South Ave., Jim Thorpe.
The suit states Osgood was the operator of a 1992 Jeep CJ7 owned by Strubinger which was unregistered and uninspected on Oct. 3, 2009, and driving along Route 93 in Packer Township, when he allegedly crossed the center line and crashed into a 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Beckett. Beckett suffered injuries detailed in the suit. At the time Beckett, the suit states, had full-tort rights under state law.
Negligence is alleged and sought is a claim for underinsured motorist coverage against Erie, which was the insurer of Strubinger at the time of the accident. No monetary amount sought is listed.
