Church picnic

St. Matthew's UCC church picnic will be Saturday. The food stands will open at 3 p.m. There will be games, kiddie cake walk and fishing pond for the children.

Enter your favorite pie in the pie contest. There will be a horseshoe tournament, cake walk and The Hawks will provide entertainment.

Rain date is Sunday, Aug. 17.

Bible study

St. Matthew's pastor, the Rev. Suzanne Brooks-Cope, will be starting a Bible study, "Discovering the Bible" beginning in September. Call the office at 610-381-2442 to register or if you have any questions.

PVEN needs

Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network is in need of school supplies and school clothes. You can bring those items to St. Matthew's UCC during office hours of Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sundays from 8 to 11:30 a.m.

Exercising seniors

There is a low-impact exercise class for those over 55 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company.

Car Cruise

Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Homes will have a Car Cruise and Chinese auction from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 13 to benefit the Alzheimer's Association.

There will be music, refreshments, bake sale and more.
