Jim Thorpe couple wed 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene F. Dougherty of Jim Thorpe recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Oct. 17, 1964, at Immaculate Conception Church in Jim Thorpe. The Rev. Potts was the officiant.

Mrs. Dougherty is the former Margaret M. Haupt, daughter of the late Harry and Mabel Haupt of Jim Thorpe. Her husband is the son of the late Clyde and Mary Hill and Robert Dougherty, all of Jim Thorpe.

The couple has four children: Annette, and her husband, Troy Brown, of Jim Thorpe; David, and his wife, Shari (Baty), of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Kim, and her husband, Dennis Wittig, of Jim Thorpe; and Shari, and her husband, Darvin Sensinger, of Jim Thorpe.

They have four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The Doughertys were the guests of honor at a party hosted by their children on Nov. 1.
