Catholic Daughters celebrate 90th

On Nov. 9 the Catholic Daughters Charter Ryan #911 of Jim Thorpe celebrated its 90th anniversary. In 1924 when the Charter was formed there were 168 members. Currently there are 22 active members.

The Rev. James Ward of Immaculate Conception Church, Jim Thorpe, is the chaplain.

The chapter is involved in national, state and community charities, such as: food pantries and toys for children.

Women with a good Catholic standing are welcome to join. Meetings are 6 p.m. the last Tuesday of the month in the Brogan Room at St. Joseph Church in Jim Thorpe on North Street.
