The engagement of Ashley Hess of Elizabethtown to John Maurer, also of Elizabethtown, has been announced by her parents.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Robert and Dawn Hess of Lancaster. She is a 2002 graduate of Lampeter-Strasburg High School and a 2006 graduate of Shippensburg University.
She is currently employed as a purchasing agent at Highland Tank.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of John and Nina Maurer of Nesquehoning. He is a 2002 graduate of Panther Valley High School and a 2006 graduate of Shippensburg University.
He is currently employed as a research data analyst at Penn State, Harrisburg.
The couple is planning a wedding for May 17 of this year in Lancaster.
