Class of 1964
Members of the Jim Thorpe High School class of 1964 will meet at noon on Wednesday at the Mahoning Valley Country Club. Reunion chairman, Ed Solomon, asks that the reunion committee members meet at 11 a.m.
This month's celebration theme will be Hawaiian shirt and dress day. Those attending are reminded to bring items for the food bank and prize box items. The flower vase will also be on the table.
Members of the class who have not made their 50th reunion reservations are reminded to do so as soon as possible. The reunion will be held on Sept. 13 at the country club.
Clothing giveaway
St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, will be holding its annual clothing giveaway during the month of August.
Clean, used clothing will be accepted at the church at 319 South Ave., until the giveaway. You may call the church at 570-325-4255 to make arrangements to drop off your items.
Giveaway days are Thursday, Friday and Saturdays, from Thursday, Aug. 7 through Saturday, Aug. 23. Thursday times are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Fridays, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
