Blue Mountain to host educational seminar on weight-loss surgery

Blue Mountain Health System bariatric surgeon Vitaly Sawyna will offer free educational seminars on weight loss surgery from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 22 in the second floor multipurpose room at the Palmerton Hospital campus at 135 Lafayette Avenue, and at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 31, in the third floor conference room at the Palmerton campus.

Bariatric surgery is an option for people whose health and quality of life are being affected by severe obesity.

Weight loss surgery options including gastric bypass, lap-band and gastric sleeve will be discussed, and the surgeon will answer questions about the process and procedure.
