Longtime music volunteer honored

Fay Schlenner, second from right, is flanked by her family and the Rev. F. Peter Muhr, right, following a presentation made to her during Music Appreciation Sunday held recently at St. John's Lutheran Church, in the heights section of Jim Thorpe, for volunteer service as Sunday school pianist for the past 45 years. Schlenner was given gifts as well as handmade thank you cards by the children of the Sunday school as tokens of appreciation. Following the service a reception was given in her honor, hosted by the church council in the Good Shepherd Room of the church.
