Shame on Panther Valley

Published March 15. 2014 09:00AM

Dear Editor,

I find it a shame that Panther Valley got rid of the girls' basketball coach, Josh Wank. Despite a sour taste in his mouth, he decided to continue coaching this season at Minersville, along with one of his assistants, Roman Baran, and they went on this year to win the girls' Schuylkill League and District 11 titles.

Upon the dismissal of Wank at the helm of the Panther Valley girls' basketball, four girl basketball players transferred from Panther Valley to Marian. At Marian, they had a successful season, won the District 11 title, and continue to advance into the state tournament. Hats off to the girls: Abbey, Brenna, Brianna and Sophie. I wish you continued success.

However, it makes me wonder … the perfect people at Panther Valley didn't like the way we, as coaches, did things at PV. So, tell me, who is laughing now, perfect people?

In closing, I'm glad that Wank, Baran and the girls finally learned the two-minute drill. Shame on PV. I wonder what would have happened if everyone could've and would've stayed?
