Class of 1964
Members of the graduating class of 1964, Jim Thorpe High School, will meet at noon Wednesday, March 26, at Trattoria's, Route 903, beginning at noon. Ed Solomon, reunion chairman, has requested that the committee members meet at least by 11:30 a.m. to go over some plans for the reunion.
Smoke detectors
If you are a residentof the community and in need of a smoke detector, the Jim Thorpe Fire Department will supply you with one. Contact Deputy Chief Bill Diehm, 570-325-3890 and he will make all the necessary arrangements.
Soup and scripture
St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, will hold its Lenten soup and scripture at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, in the church fellowship hall. Bishop Samuel Zeiser will be attending all four weeks during Lent and has arranged the speakers for each week.
Community dinner
St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Race Street, will hold its free community dinner from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, March 23. This month's menu will be Easter ham dinner. If you have any questions, call the church at 570-325-2241.
