Named to dean's list

Damian Francis Richards of Jim Thorpe was recently named to the dean's list at Bloomsburg University for the fall 2013 semester after completing the term with a 3.9 GPA.

A freshman at the university, Damian is enrolled in the nursing program, which has been recognized as a leading accredited undergraduate and graduate level nursing program in the state. The university partners with Geisinger Medical Center to provide its bachelor's and master's degree programs in nursing, including a MSN nurse anesthesia option, which Damian intends to pursue after completing his undergraduate studies.

A 2013 graduate of Marian Catholic High School, Damian is actively involved in the university and has been chosen as a future nursing leader by the nursing faculty, an honor that included the opportunity to attend the University Nursing Excellence Faust Lectureship dinner.

Damian is also a member of the Health Sciences Living and Learning Community, Student Nurses Organization, and Intramural sports programs.

He is the son of Ralph and Jeanette Richards of Jim Thorpe, and grandson of Eleanor McNealis of Jim Thorpe and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Richards Sr. of Mahanoy City.
