Weight loss surgery

Blue Mountain Health System bariatric surgeon, Vitaly Sawyna, MD, will offer free educational seminars on weight loss surgery at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, and Tuesday June 24 in the second floor multipurpose room at the Palmerton Campus, 135 Lafayette Ave.

The bariatric (weight loss) surgery program can help individuals with severe obesity lose weight who have been unable to lose using other methods. The surgery is an option for people whose health and quality of life are affected by severe obesity.

Weight loss surgery options including gastric bypass, lap-band and gastric sleeve will be discussed, and the surgeon will answer all your questions about the process and procedure.
