Golden Agers
The Annual Memorial Mass was held on May 12 at St. Joseph R.C. Church in Summit Hill. Fifteen candles were lit for each deceased member as the name was called.
The congregation provided the Hymns. Following the liturgy members gathered for a social. Mother's Day and armed forces songs were sung at the gathering.
There will be no meeting on May 26 due to Memorial Day. The next meeting will be Monday, June 9.
The guest speaker will be Sue Johns, a representative from Diakon Agency.
Nesquehoning
Memorial Day parade
The annual Nesquehoning Memorial Day parade will be held on Monday, May 26.
The parade will form at the recreation center at 8 a.m. and begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.
Stops will be made at the monuments located at routes 209 and 54 as well as next to Turkey Hill for wreath placement, prayer, firing squad and the playing of taps.
The parade route will conclude at the VFW Post 8008 for the main program.
