U.S. Marshals mark 225 years
Dear Editor,
This letter is in response to an article by Donald Serfass on Oct. 31 on his opinion about the Eric Frein capture by law enforcement. Good job! I wish he would have gone further about the U.S. Marshals. They are definitely the oldest around.
After I voted on Tuesday I went to the library to find out how old they are. To my surprise the U.S. Marshals just turned 225 years old. That was back on Sept. 24, 2014. Having been put in service in 1789 by then-President George Washington. I guess Washington was planning ahead for the future of America. Or he knew something we do not.
This was for anyone who wanted to know about the U.S. Marshals.
