Graduates from basic training
Army National Guard PVT2 Christopher R. Lawler has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina.
During the nine weeks of training, Lawler studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapon, chemical warfare, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
Lawler is the son of Thomas and Dawn Lawler of Lehighton. He returned from basic combat training to complete his senior year at Lehighton Area High School. Upon graduation he will attend advanced individual training at Fort Sill in Oklahoma to be trained as a field artillery automated tactical data systems specialist.
