Come join local fellowship group
Dear men who love God,
My name is Scotty Morrison. I have been a homeowner in Lehighton for 14 years, but working in New Jersey and attending church in another town, I hardly knew anyone in Lehighton and the surrounding area.
I once made the joke that in having a pickup, a beard and a Cabela's jacket, I at least LOOKED like a local.
But then something very bad happened at the church I was attending. So bad, I would not attend ANY church for over six months. But then I heard about a men's group, a Christian men's fellowship and Bible study, that met in Lehighton Recreation Center on the first and third Saturdays of the month at 8 a.m., and I started attending.
I met a small group of men who were not afraid to share from their heart of events in their life, as well as how the particular study we were doing affected them.
I have NEVER met such a group of Christian men so close and open with each other and feel very comfortable being myself around them.
I throw out an invitation to you all to come and join us.
Through this group, I heard of a Christian Fellowship Breakfast that meets at the Beacon 443 Diner in Lehighton on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month at 8 a.m.
On the second Saturday, the group is called the Body of Brothers - on the Mountain. Men from churches come from as far away as Brodheadsville for an hour and a half of fellowship, devotions and, of course, breakfast.
On the fourth Saturday at 8 a.m., men from just a few local churches gather for the same thing.
I am not writing this invitation just to see the attendance grow. Christian men, especially in today's society, need the fellowship of other believers. I believe that such fellowship will strengthen the community of believers from all local churches.
Now, through the Bible study and breakfast fellowships, I have become acquainted with and feel a part of the community of the men and churches of the Lehighton area, and have even become a part of the local prisonministry.
For that, I am grateful to God and again extend the invitation for you to join with us.
In his service,
Scotty Morrison
