Voting notice
Voters in Tamaqua's Third Precinct will once again cast their ballots at the Tamaqua Municipal Building, 320 E. Broad St., instead of the ABC High Rise. The change to borough hall was made two years ago because of the East Broad Street bridge reconstruction project.
While the bridge is now open, the Schuylkill County Election Bureau didn't have enough time before the November election to finish all of the necessary legal steps and paperwork required to change a polling place.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
Soup social
Monthly soup socials are held at Trinity United Church of Christ, 22 Lafayette St. The next outreach social will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. on Nov. 1. The free event is part of Trinity's monthly "Feeding the Hungry" program.
Those attending are reminded to use the lower parking lot entrance into Founder's Hall.
Trick or Treat
Tamaqua Mayor Chris Morrison has designated today as Trick or Treat Night in Tamaqua. Hours will be from 6-8 p.m. Residents willing to offer treats to the tricksters are reminded to turn on their porch or exterior lights.
Calvary Evangelical
Rally Day will be celebrated during the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary Evangelical Methodist Church in the Lewistown Valley. The morning service will include special music and puppets. Sunday school classes are held at 9:15 a.m.
Also on Sunday, the Cooley Family will share their musical talents at 6:30 p.m.
St. John Lutheran
The Rev. Phyllis Wolford will officiate at the 9:15 a.m. worship service this All Saints Sunday in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. The service will include Holy Communion. Sunday school class will meet at 10:30 a.m.
Also on Sunday, the Confirmation class will meet at 10:30 a.m.
Activities for next week will include: Monday, worship and music committee will meet at 6:30 p.m.; Thursday, constitution meeting at 4 p.m., angel choir meets at 6 p.m., shepherd choir practice is at 6:30 p.m., and the chancel choir will rehearse at 7:30 p.m.
