Carbon van driver in Luzerne crash

Published April 04. 2015 09:00AM

A Carbon County resident, driving a company-owned transport van, crashed during snowy conditions in Luzerne County on Tuesday. State police at Hazleton said the crash occurred at 4:13 p.m. along North Lehigh Gorge Road in Foster Township.

Troopers said Patricia A. Anglovich 58, of Jim Thorpe, was driving a 2012 Ford E250 transport van southbound and attempting to climb uphill when the tires lost traction and its rear end began to slide to the right.

Anglovich overcorrected her steering to the left, troopers said, which caused the van to overturn onto its passenger side and come to rest along the left shoulder of the road.

Anglovich was not injured. The van sustained heavy damage to its passenger side and had to be towed from the scene.

Anglovich, who was wearing a seat belt, was given a warning for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
